South Dakota Housing Development Authority Headquarters

The South Dakota Housing Development Authority (SDHDA) determined that it was time to create a new state-of-the-art office facility to replace their outdated rented office building. As part of this decision, they decided their new facility should embody the care and energy efficiency they are expecting from projects funded through their loan program. The facility would be a classroom of sorts for their clients.

FourFront Design, Inc. was chosen to design the new office building for the SDHDA with a total of 15,000 – 20,000 square feet. The new building includes; a lobby, a large conference room, four smaller conference rooms, computer server room, break room, public and staff restrooms, film room, mail room, office space, training room, storage, exercise room, and fire-proof vault.

All site and building development plans were made to allow for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating. So, the design had to meet the United States Green Building Council’s LEED®, green building standards.

FourFront Design helped create a durable and efficient design, allowing for future growth, and showcasing some of today’s most energy efficient construction techniques.

The South Dakota Housing Development Authority’s (SDHDA), New Office Building, was awarded LEED® Certification established by the US Green Building Council and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).
