Summary

Candidate will be able to work independently and as a consulting engineer on various HVAC system projects.

The Mechanical Engineer for FourFront Design is an experienced engineer who can define a project, develop a set of tasks to accomplish the project, coordinate and monitor the work involved in the tasks and deliver a final product on time and within prescribed budget. He/she must have a general understanding of all mechanical systems including plumbing, fire protection, heating, ventilating, air conditioning and temperature controls. Candidate will have oversight and management of this discipline of work as well as responsibility for coordination with other disciplines associated with each specific project. The position responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to; preliminary designs, sustainable design criteria, LEED compliance, project budgeting and construction cost estimating, presentations, plan and specification generation, bidding and construction administration responsibilities.

Essential Functions

• Assess the requirements of the project and clients needs and be able to manage the design and production aspects of the project.
• Function as the mechanical project manager and/or mechanical project engineer; responsible for design, planning, organizing and directing the activities of Mechanical Engineering for FourFront Design projects.
• Develop and maintain production and CAD standards that coordinate with current company standards.
• Responsible for management of mechanical design Quality Control procedures.
• Promote and provide expertise in sustainable design practices as required by the project. Familiarization with LEED principles is required.
• Review design and construction budgets and schedules; manage work accordingly.
• Participate in company and project meetings.
• Determine mechanical design and project scope, budget and staffing requirements.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and ordinances. Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required.
• Proficient in use of AutoCAD and REVIT programs. Assign and review work where required and provide coordination with multiple disciplines.
• Provide construction administrative reviews, application for payment reviews, prompt reports and required coordination.
• Resolve day-to-day problems of mostly technical nature. When acting as a project leader, responsibility includes meeting schedule, budget and quality requirements. At times, individual will be responsible for review of construction documents prior to final review.
• Assist in the education and development of mechanical design staff and act as a resource for mechanical design questions.
• Maintain neat and organized work area which allows efficient access to project information required by other team members.
• Interpret the intent of mechanical contract drawings and specifications for the Client, General Contractor, Building Inspector and other interested parties.
• Prepare and distribute schedules, shop drawings and samples.
• Responsible for the accuracy and quality of all technical work.
• Participates in the preparation of proposals.
• Reviews invoices before distribution to the client.
• Coordinate work of outside consultants in the area of mechanical engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 3+ years previous in the mechanical industry/E.I.T., particularly in architectural design and HVAC.
• Must have PE license.

• Willingness to apply for additional state licenses when appropriate and/or required for work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP required; Visual-3D helpful.

The Electrical Engineer is a experienced professional engineer (PE) who can define a project, develop a set of tasks to accomplish the project, coordinate and monitor the work involved in the tasks, and deliver a final product on time and within prescribed budget. This individual must have a general understanding of all electrical systems including facility power, electrical distribution, lighting and special systems ideally in commercial, healthcare, educational, and federal facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess the requirements of the client’s needs; manage the design and production aspects of the project.
• Function as the electrical project manager and/or electrical project engineer; responsible for design, planning, organizing and directing the activities of EE for FourFront projects.
• Develop and maintain design standards that coordinate with current company standards.
• Responsible for management of electrical design Quality Control procedures.

• Minimum of 5+ years previous electrical design experience, particularly in architectural design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineering license required.

• Willingness to apply for additional state licenses when appropriate and/or required for work.
• Sufficient knowledge of LEED principles to become LEED accredited.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP required; Visual-3D helpful.

• Data enter all required plot information accurately and efficiently using standard rules and guidelines that meet quality and production expectations.

Required Education and Experience

This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and multifunctional printing devices.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Photograph National Cemetery plots, mass graves, monuments, and columbariums.
• Verification of all plots with the cemetery maps.
• Review all images of every plot with the section maps to ensure any missing images or images that need to be retaken due to poor photography.
• Running tablet, GIS antenna, camera equipment.
• Manage files for each project. Transfer and save data according to standard file structure.

Skills Required

• We are looking for candidates who are analytical, conscientious, astute, critical thinkers, problem solvers, flexible, and decision makers.
• Must follow rules and standard processes as defined by guidelines for accuracy of work.
• Must be a team player, work as a team.

Must be able to

• Be on your feet for 6-8 hours a day, then work an additional 3-4 hours to review and verify day’s work.
• Be technical savvy and learn to use GIS equipment, camera, and tablet.
• Be able to carry 10-25lbs of equipment in the field.
• Work 10 – 11 hour days, 6 days a week.
• Travel and be in the field up to 14 days.
