First State Bank of Newcastle Remodel

The First State Bank renovation located in Newcastle, WY, incorporated the warm existing teak wood accents paired with updated contemporary finishes to create an inviting and professional user experience. The color palette was selected based on a complimentary color scheme inspired from the Bank’s logo, as well as providing an overall timeless interior.

Durable finishes in tonal grays, such as the quartz countertops, porcelain tiling, laminate, paint and textured wall coverings add interest to both horizontal and vertical surfaces while balancing the warm character of the existing wood throughout the space.

Way-finding was emphasized with porcelain tiling from the front entrance to the teller line to help guide customers into the space and along main circulation areas. The flooring transitions to carpet tile in secondary waiting and staff areas. A custom metal laser cut logo serves as an a branding wall above the new hospitality area, adjacent to the entry. A semi-opaque blue-gray patterned resin panel was framed with new teak wood to create a subtle visual barrier to lightly define the space.

Furniture walls comprised of laminate paneling and glazing were installed to create additional office space along the perimeter of the bank that allow for future reconfiguration, if desired by the client. New desks, task chairs, filing components, and lounge furniture was also part of the redesign.

New acoustical ceiling tiles were installed with a high NRC rating to add acoustical privacy within the space, along with updated LED light fixtures for decreased energy consumption and overall longevity of bulb life. Updated HVAC provided electric furnaces with electric strip heat with AC to heat pump systems with new furnaces and high efficiency heat pumps.  This increased energy efficiency greatly.  The duct layout and zoning was also redesigned to increase the air circulation and to better satisfy the needs of the employees and customers.
