Granite Automotive - Nissan

The new Granite Automotive Complex includes two new dealerships (Buick /GMC and Nissan) and is located on the north side of East Mall Drive on 12.7 acres. The design was inspired by efficiency, with high-speed overhead doors, in-floor heat and tilt-up concrete walls within both facilities. The clean and classic interiors make a beautiful statement by use of sustainable, durable, quality finishes.

The site development portion of the project consists of mass site grading and installation of parking lots and roadways, curb and gutter, asphalt and concrete pavement, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, multiple porous landscape detention features, ADA accessible pedestrian walks and approaches, site lighting and security video surveillance, water services, and geothermal wells.

When designing the HVAC and plumbing systems, we used an energy efficient geothermal ground source water loop for primary heating and cooling of the facility including the in-floor heating system. Energy efficient water source heat pumps and radiant in-floor heating systems were also installed to help meet the owner’s desire to lower operational costs.

Offices and sales area were designed to be a positive pressure compared to the vehicle repair area. This was accomplished through pressure sensors, Make-up Air Units and Exhaust Fans with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) that would vary the fan speeds to maintain the air pressure difference.
