Peterson Air Force Base Military Working Dogs Kennel

This new 4,619 SF Military Working Dog (MWD) Kennel Facility includes room for the kennel master, trainers, handlers, and 18 assigned canine. This space provides a safe, efficient, and clean environment for the dogs and their trainers. The intent of the design and construction was for the kennel to support the Security Forces Squadron while meeting all current standards.

The existing MWD kennel failed to meet current Life, Health, and Safety standards for the valuable military working dogs. The new facility is a 1-story structure with slab-on-grade construction. The modern, safe, and efficient facility will accommodate the MWDs, including support space and administrative areas. The construction of this facility is intended to correct Life, Health and Safety deficiencies which affects the MWD team.

The project site is located adjacent to an existing Obedience Course for ease of transfer when training the dogs.
